Cory Wetterlin

Cory Wetterlin grew up as a typical Christian kid in a typical Christian home, he has one sister and his parents are still together. His life never collapsed and he never found himself sitting on the streets overdosing. But he did find himself asking questions of faith; is God real, does he want anything to do with me, what can he offer me, is this all just a big lie? Finding answers to these questions is a life long pursuit and his personal mission statement reflects that. “I want to represent a God who is real, intimate, and offers new life in the context of spiritual warfare,” says Wetterlin.

Cory has had the chance to do just that on a national touring youth ministry team called YouthNet extreme and as a youth pastor using the tools that God has given him such as drama, storytelling, and small groups, Cory pursues his mission. Now he is pursuing his call to youth ministry in a new direction by earning his PhD in Religion, at Andrews University, with the purpose of teaching in an undergrad religion program. “I hope to help students from all majors engage their faith in their career and their daily life. This reflects a truly intimate relationship with God.”
