INDY ADVENTIST CHURCHES LAUNCH HEALTH INITIATIVE ON LET’S MOVE DAY
Indianapolis - The White House Initiative, Let’s Move, is celebrated on September 22 around the country on Let’s Move Day. The national event combats childhood obesity and has capitulated around 15 local Seventh-day Adventist Churches to join community organizations to fight this epidemic through an aggressive campaign.
Indianapolis is set to be the premiere flagship city for the 2023 Let’s Move Day. Let’s Move Day Indy is set for September 22, from 10 am - 2 pm at White River State Park.
“The objective for this is to engage kids, parents, schools and the community in working together to fight obesity,” said Katia Reinert, director of Adventist health ministries.
Indy’s rendition of the coast-to-coast event features a 5K walk/run and an interactive Kid’s Health Expo. State representatives as well as sports figures are reported to attend. For more information on the Let’s Move Day Indy, visit www.letsmoveindy.com.
As part of the campaign, an assessment has been developed for the community to calculate their true age based on lifestyle choices and patterns. This tool is to help individuals make an informed decision as to whether they need to make a lifestyle change. To check out your HonestAge go to www.honestage.com.
Further championing this effort, ReloveLife, also known as Indiana Healthy Choices, presents its 5th annual Heartland Health and Wellness Conference, September 26 & 27. The HHWC features the who’s-who of medicine, nutrition and culinary arts such as: Dr Michael Greger, one of the foremost nutritionist in the US along with Author and Nutritionist, Dr Pamela Popper.
